Rene Gruau: the very name has been synonymous with exquisite refinement and seductive flair for the past fifty years. In the 1940s and '50s, Gruau became the favourite illustrator of the world's haute couture - particularly Christian Dior, but also Hubert de Givency, Balmain, Schiaparelli, Balenciagoa dn Cardin.
